Les Deux Cyprès located in Sanilhac, near Uzès is about 45 minutes drive from Nîmes-Garons airport (Ryanair from London Stansted/Luton, twice daily in summer, around two hours flight) and just over an hour from either Montpellier-Fréjorgues (Ryanair/BA) or Marseille-Marignanne (BA/Easyjet) airports. A new summer service from Southampton to Avignon is being introduced by Flybe.com from 26 May 2006.
By train, there is an excellent service of high-speed trains to Avignon-TGV station or Nîmes from Paris (in just 2hrs 40 minutes) and London via Lille-Europe (direct Eurostar in summer in around six hours from Waterloo). A more relaxing alternative is to take the French Motorail car-sleeper train overnight from Calais to Avignon.
Cars can be hired at all the above airports and at Avignon-TGV station. If you are driving, it is possible to do the journey in 9-10 hours from Calais via Reims, Troyes, Langres, Dijon, Lyon and Orange, getting off at the Pont-Du-Gard/Remoulin exit towards Uzès. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, there are wonderful breaks in either Champagne or Burgundy country (if going down via Lyon) or the Loire and in the Massif Central areas (if avoiding Paris to the west).
